Cerakote vs DLC vs PVD
All three are tough. They just shine in different places. Here's the short version.
Cerakote
Ceramic-polymer coating, sprayed and oven-cured.
DLC
Diamond-like carbon: a very thin, very hard, low-friction carbon coating.
PVD
Physical vapor deposition: a thin metallic coating applied in a vacuum chamber.
Which one is right for you?
- Want a specific color, pattern or full custom look? Cerakote.
- Want a tough, slick, low-key black finish on parts that see wear? DLC.
- Want a metallic accent, like a gold barrel or rainbow small parts? PVD.
- Mixing is common: a Cerakote frame with a DLC or PVD slide or barrel.
Pick your colors.
Send a photo of the gun and the look you want. We'll come back with options, a price and a timeline.
